Navigator Lakeland Challenge

The 2013 Navigator challenge took 19 members of EBB staff to the Lake District. The weekend involved, kayaking, hiking and cycling and the idea was to complete the whole weekend under your own power or using public transport.


Everyone travelled to the Lake District by train and the first challenge was to kayak the length of Ullswater, taking part in various team building challenges on the way. After a quick lunch in Glenridding, the team got out of wetsuits and into their hiking gear for the ascent of Helvellyn via Striding Edge.
A nights camping awaited them, which was followed, after breakfast, by a challenging on and off-road cycle back to Glenridding. The route went  via the Kirkstone Pass, known locally as The Struggle: a punishing 3 mile climb.
